PTSA

As you may or may not be aware, Verdugo has a PTSA.  And as you may or may not be aware....my daughter graduated in 2015!   I have continued to be involved with the PTSA this year to ensure that it continues to exist.

What is happening with the PTSA at Verdugo is that parents/students tend to get involved when their student is in their senior year.  Which is great...it helps ensure Grad Night and a few other things.   But it leaves us with the same issue every year about this time....creating a new board for next year.   This year is no different....in fact only one board member has a freshmen and everyone else has a senior ...oh wait and I don't have anyone at the school at all!   :)

PTSA meetings occur once a month - usually the first Monday of the month.   It is not a huge time commitment except for Grad nigh (but even that is not huge especially if more people are involved).

I am asking if you will get involved and help keep the PTSA at Verdugo.   If people (teachers, parents and students) don't step up and help, it will be disbanded.   Verdugo has one of the "oldest" PTSAs in LAUSD!   Without the PTSA, Verdugo will lose the potentially greatest opportunity for parents and students to provide input and support to the school.   If you want to see something change, this can be a way to start!

If you are interested in becoming involved or if have questions, please contact me. The next regular meeting is Monday, April 25th at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. (Note: There is a meeting on March 28th but it's off site and focusing on this year's grad night.)   R

Remember ...this is a PTSA ...parents, teachers and students.  (It looks great on a college application...and students can and do hold positions on the board!)

Please help!
