VHHS remains the only high school to serve the Tujunga Valley community since opening its doors in September of 1937. VHHS has grown in size and scope of programs, but what has remained consistent is our commitment to excellence.

Over 50% of VHHS students participate in over 20 team sports, ranging from football to golf. Our long-standing tradition of excellence in athletics is rooted in our commitment to help develop off-the-field talents in our student-athletes that include cooperation, dedication, leadership and perseverance.

Takai McGinnis

VHHS Class of 2024

Takai is a junior in the Verdugo Hills High School Academy. He is academically, athletically, and socially driven. For the past three years, he has also been a valued member of our football team, demonstrating that Verdugo Academy students can be both scholars and athletes. Upon graduation, Takai plans to attend a California State University and major in Psychology. Takai says the best thing about being a Don is the kind faculty who are here.
