VHHS remains the only high school to serve the Tujunga Valley community since opening its doors in September of 1937. VHHS has grown in size and scope of programs, but what has remained consistent is our commitment to excellence.

Over 50% of VHHS students participate in over 20 team sports, ranging from football to golf. Our long-standing tradition of excellence in athletics is rooted in our commitment to help develop off-the-field talents in our student-athletes that include cooperation, dedication, leadership and perseverance.

Roy Watson

Roy is a Junior who is a valuable part of the Verdugo Marching Dons and Orchestra. He has participated in music competitions and was selected to be first trumpet for the LAUSD Honor Band, performing at the Rose Parade. With varying interests, Roy is planning to major in forensics in college.

I really appreciate our VAPA program because all of the faculty are always conducive to creativity, and self-expression, and always encourage their students to excel in whatever art form we're passionate about. I have been in the marching band and orchestra all 3 years so far and it has been the best experience in high school and extremely therapeutic.
