VHHS remains the only high school to serve the Tujunga Valley community since opening its doors in September of 1937. VHHS has grown in size and scope of programs, but what has remained consistent is our commitment to excellence.

Over 50% of VHHS students participate in over 20 team sports, ranging from football to golf. Our long-standing tradition of excellence in athletics is rooted in our commitment to help develop off-the-field talents in our student-athletes that include cooperation, dedication, leadership and perseverance.

Once a Don, Always a Don.

VHHS is proud to have generations of alumni who return to campus as faculty, staff, or parents with children who are actively studying at the Academy. The Verdugo Hills Academy is committed to our legacy of preparing students to achieve their educational goals and professional dreams.

VHHS Academy offers 3 specialized CTE (California Technical Education) Tracks:

Health, Science and Medical Technology

Pre-Med, CPR, Medical Technology

Agriculture and Natural Resources

Farm and Plant Education

Arts, Media and Entertainment

Sound, Lights, Musical Production, Editing (VAPA Collaboration)

While we’re the local high school for students in the Sunland-Tujunga community, our SAS program also welcomes GATE students from our surrounding communities to attend and take AP and STEM courses.

The Verdugo Hills Academy also offers the Mission College GE Pathway, which allows students to take day and evening courses on Verdugo’s campus and earn a high school diploma, while simultaneously earning credit towards an Associate Degree.
